Bellabox!

Last week, my first Bellabox arrived! I’m a bit of a girly girl and have fun playing around with make up. I’m currently on the lookout to find some new products (I’m after a new moisteriser, primer and some basic make up), so I thought I’d try out the new trend of beauty boxes. For $15 a month, and you can cancel anytime, I didn’t see the harm in trying it out.

The boxing and packaging is so cute! As you know, I am a sucker for some good branding! It’s the designer in me. Everything item is explained on a notecard inside the box. In this box I got 6 items. I believe it is 5 samples and 1 full product. They are as follows

  • Napolian Perdis Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Primer.
  • A’Kin Lavender, Geranium and Jojoba Hand & Nail Creme.
  • Alpha-H Gentle Daily Exfoliant.
  • Savoir Faire Lipstick – in Miss you.
  • One Skin Sydney Daily Hydrate.
  • Wine Wipes.

Another thing I liked about Bellabox was that they have a ‘rewards point’ system. I don’t know about you, but I often can’t justify the price of a lot of higher end make up. You accumulate points by simply subscribing to the box (15 points a month!), referring friends, buying items in the store & product feedback. Every 100points = $10. For me, any discount helps!

That probably sounds like a sales pitch! No, i’m not being paid to do this blog, I wasn’t contacted about it! I signed up after reading THIS post by Olivia about a similar kind of box.

I’m so in love with the lipstick pictured below. It’s so extravagant. I’m not shy about my love of pretty, shiny things, and this is both. The packaging, the branding (golly i’m a little pathetic with that aren’t I!). The top of the lipstick enclosure is engraved with the SF logo and he lid is a tiny big magnetized so it won’t fall off in your cosmetic purse!

I’ve not used any of the products yet, but I am excited to. Would you be interesting in a monthly vlog review post about the items? I was thinking I could post each month about the items I recieve, and post a vlog review about the previous month’s items. That way it gives me time to test them out and make up my mind on how I feel about them. I’m not a ‘beauty blogger’, so I was just wondering if you’d be interested.

Ohh that looks like some fun stuff. I’d love to hear more about it. Do you know if that’s available in America?

Hi Karlene, there’s one called a ‘Birchbox’ in America

The DO sound like fun…I think I might do a search and see which one I like the most. LOVE that lipstick, I’m a sucker for fancy packaging too!

I do! I know of http://www.glossybox.co.uk/ & http://www.boudoirprive.co.uk/ , if you google either one, they will come up with reviews, just in case you want to choose between the two.

Oh, presents! That’s a good idea! I know if I don’t use them my Mum or niece probably would. I love getting mail, and yes, the packaging is gorgeous, so I can imagine i’m going to be doing happy dances everytime I get one!

I am very pro a monthly vlog. It would be really interesting. :)

I really want to start one of these, I saw glossybox on another blog, which I believe is a UK equivalent. But I am very much not rich enough at the moment. Perhaps I could convince a parent to buy me as a xmas present. Hmmm…..

Yay! I think the monthly blog would be the best way to go.

I joined two Australian boxes, at $15 each a month, I figured I can try them to see what I like. With the price of a lot of the make up out there, I don’t want to go out and buy something expensive only to hate it after a few days.

This is true and having seen a few other blogs has made me realise the value you get from these boxes. I am a cosmetics novice, so this could be really useful for some introductions to certain products.
