Aussie Curves – Mixing Patterns

I was planning on getting my crazy colour on and going ‘out there’ for this weeks theme. One of my favourite blogs is Macademian Girl, in my opinion she does crazy, bright, clashing, ott outfits to perfection. However I woke up Saturday not feeling the best, and Sunday not so better. So I opted for my ‘go-to’ mixing patterned outfit.

The weather has been crazy and I think my hair shows that. It reached 32, but a few hours before these photos were taken it was storming. I quickly put Tonka on his lead, and ventured into the yard at 7pm to take these pictures. Thank heavens for daylight savings. What do you think of this backdrop for outfit pictures?

I have a love of animal prints, well, not the usual animal print like leopard or cheetah, but prints, silhouettes, or animals. I call this skirt my ‘Henry skirt’ as it reminds me of my fur baby Henry (Who lives with his daddy). I actually have the skirt in the blue colour way too.

    I love the combination of that skirt and blouse though its like out of left field, quirky conservative wear. I love it.

    Hee! I love that saying, its so weird :P Yeah, I feel rather prim and proper in this outfit, like I should be wearing pantyhose and heels, but then with the print, I think it makes it more ‘me’.

    I am so in love with this garden, I find myself sitting outside so much. While I do kind of miss the pool at our old place, I have to admit, I’m so in love with this house.

    Ha, thank you! I felt rather ‘proper’ in it. I actually used to dress very ‘ladylike’ so it felt quite normal to wear, I just felt like I should of been wearing stockings and heels.
    How amazing is Macademian Girl, I’m in constant awe of her outfits. I just think she puts them together so amazingly well, i could never pull off half of the combinations she does, but she just wears them so well!

    Yes, he was happy because he’s been wanting to get out and play in the yard but I couldn’t for the life of me find his lead, but I found it and he’s been happy having some outside exploring time. I feel bad because he used to be an indoor/outdoor cat, but he’s only allowed outside when he’s on his lead with me.

    I think that pattern mixing is the best way to make yourself feel better! :) I LOVE LOVE LOVE that turtle belt. It’s so freaking adorable! And I think the background is so lovely for outfit shots! it’s so dreary and cold her right now, I am envious of all the greenery and sunshine!
