Outfit – Bowie

February 12, 2016

When the news hit that David Bowie passed away, I cried. I didn’t really talk about it on social media, but Bowie had been a big part of my life. I was introduced to him when I was young, Labyrinth has always been my favourite movie, my high school music teacher knew I loved Bowie so much he gifted me an expensive Bowie book, and I was lucky enough to see him live in 2004. I’ve mentioned it before but David Bowie is my God.

When I saw this 24-hour release from Living Dead Clothing, with 15% of profits going to Australian Cancer Research Foundation, my only decision was to get the dress or top. As you can see, I went for the dress. I figured i’d wear it more. I think this has taken up top spot of my favourite Bowie item of clothing, up until now it was the Hoodie my grandmother bought me from the Reality tour.

Decided to play with some make up, I’ve been loving experimenting with colours again. I remember when I was in high school I’d just sit on the floor in front of my wardrobe mirrors and play with make up looks for hours.

I’m in desperate need of a hair cut. One of the side effects of the magnesium deficiency (what I was in hospital for last month) is that my hair has been falling out more then normal. Add to the fact its so long, it feels like i’m constantly being caught in spider webs, so I’m trying to figure out what I should do with it.

I didn’t want to take away from the layout of the dress, so I decided to add my Baccurelli brooch to the hem of the dress. Remember, brooches can be worn anywhere, even in your hair!

Were you a fan of David Bowie? What was your fave song?
What hair cut/ style do you think I should get?

  • I just my hair lopped off into a short bob and I’m loving that it’s so much healthier.

You look awesome! The outfit, your hair, your eye make up… love it all! I really want the Jareth brooch! I’ve never really listened to Bowie’s music, but I grew up on Labyrinth and it’s always been one of my favourite films. I still play the soundtrack regularly and As The World Falls Down and Within You are two of my fave songs. I love colourful eye make up, too, and love the colours you wearing in these photos. Do you have the Urban Decay Electric palette yet? I think you’d love it if you haven’t. The colours are amazing. I’m also in dire need of a hair cut. I’ve not had mine cut in over two years now and it’s driving me mad. I’ll probably get mine cut back in to a long bob soon. It’s should save me about an hour of washing and drying it! xx

Oh this outfit is utterly perfect. And you’ve given me a lovely reminder of how much fun it is to just play with makeup. That used to be something I’d spend whole evenings doing in college, just pouring glasses of wine and fiddling with colours and effects. It’s been years since I’ve done that, and I miss it. I really do need to make more time to play and create.

As for your hair, I know it sounds scary, but I’d love to see you with quite short hair, or maybe a gorgeous asymmetrical bob. I think you’d rock any look, but something choppy and edgy would look amazing, especially with your array of bright shades. 🙂

You look so cute! Its seems, you are much better these days. My favorite song is “under pressure”.
I like your hair, as it is. So please don´t change it! 🙂
