It’s crazy to believe how cold Melbourne has been the past few days. Technically it’s still summer here, but I’ve had to turn the heater on! Not that I’m complaining, I much prefer the cold. Are you sick of me talking about the weather? I guess I’m still so confused by Melbourne weather that it’s something I talk about often.
I’d been eyeing these jeans for ages, they even appeared several times on Lustlist posts. You know I really love something if it appears more than once on a lustlist post. When they went on sale I snapped them up in preparation for my next Tasmania trip.
The top was a spur of the moment decision, which I do no regret. I like to have a good selection of black tops, and this was different from any others I own. I picked it up on sale from Missguided and am really in love with it. It’s super comfy and I love way it sits.
SIZING – I’ve only bought tailored pants from River Island previously and I sized up with those. For these, I went for a size 22 and they fit well. A little tight around the waistband, but after an hour they stretched out a little to be more comfortable. The legs are a skinny fit, which is a first for me, so if you have thick calves, beware of that. To me, these fit like an ASOS Ridley jean is a 20.

I also have to remember that when I wear velvet, I should give it a going over with a lint roller before I leave the house. Otherwise, the velvet turns into cat-fur! Haha!
Do you prefer summer or winter?
I had no idea what to wear to the concert the other day, it was hot, it reached 38°c and I knew it would be hot in the venue. My main goal was comfort, so I went through my wardrobe to try and find something cool and comfortable. I ended up with this outfit.
I decided to go a bit fancy with my make up. Bright glittery makeup made me think of my teen years and the bands I was going to see. Hair up in twin buns, because I hate hair on my neck when it’s hot.
This top is so comfy, but i’ve never worn it just on it’s own like this. It was a little bit out of my comfort zone, the arm holes dip low and showed off my bra and curves. Not to mention my arms are uncovered. I’m happy to report, the world didn’t end and I felt cool and comfortable all night.
Thank heavens for makeup setting spray! Once home I crashed into bed to check out social media, as I do. I was quite surprised my makeup lasted so well as I got a bit sweaty, but it still looked good as new!
Do you have a ‘concert uniform’? Something you tend to wear to always wear to concerts?
This outfit is something different for me. These are colours that I don’t usually wear. Sure, I have my lemon print dress and I do love yellow, but generally I shy away from a lot of yellow/orange/greens/browns. I really love how this outfit turned out though. I wore it out to dinner and was super comfortable the whole evening.
Nyata are amazing. I’ve been lucky to see their designs numerous times, but sadly, I don’t often have the money to be able to purchase them. Something I wish I could do more is supporting smaller Australian businesses. Nyata is Australian owned but manufactured in Indonesia. They offer smaller runs on their collections so they are all limited edition.
I picked these pants up in a sale after Christmas, the few items I had my eyes on had sold out in my size and I’m always looking for new interesting pants, so I thought I’d give these a try. Finding pants I like can be hard, being an apple shape means pants often look awkward on me, but I’ve found looser harem type pants help. I picked these up in size ‘Gorgeous’ which is a 20-22. They fit great, though are a little long, but that is something easily fixed.
I wasn’t sure if I’d have anything to wear them with, apart from a black top, but then I remembered I picked up this top (it matches my dress) and I really love the whole citrus look of the outfit. I wish I still had my red hair to wear this with!

Oh, and I couldn’t help but do a cheeky internet VS real life photo. Haha. One of the good things about wearing a moonboot is that I can take it off for photos.
What is a colour you don’t often wear?
