I love shoes, LOVE them. They are one of my weakness, I have around 100 pairs and I always have more on my wishlist. One of my weaknesses are boots, but being fat and having chubby legs often means I don’t fit boots. Luckily there are companies and stores these days that do cater to wide width. I guess this is also when my smaller-fat-privilege comes in, that I can sometimes find boots to fit me in everyday stores.
When I spotted these boots on the shelves at Spendless, I didn’t think they would fit. After pulling them down, I decided to give them a try and WAHEY! They fit! Just. I should say, that they are stretched to capacity on my calves. These boots come in black, but I only had eyes for the grey. Grey is my current favourite colour in case you hadn’t picked up on that already.
I love this dress/tunic from Kmart, I often pair it with leggings, but it hits the perfect length to show off these boots. I blinged it up with my dinosaur necklace. I’m trying to wear more jewellery and accessories later. I find I pick so many things up on sale, but forget to wear them.
I’m also in this funk with my hair, I don’t know what to do with it. My roots are in desperate need of a bleach and I still like the blue, but I’m also eyeing some of the new Lime Crime shades, I just don’t know which colour I like best. Which colour do you think?
How many pairs of shoes do you own?
This outfit is something different for me. These are colours that I don’t usually wear. Sure, I have my lemon print dress and I do love yellow, but generally I shy away from a lot of yellow/orange/greens/browns. I really love how this outfit turned out though. I wore it out to dinner and was super comfortable the whole evening.
Nyata are amazing. I’ve been lucky to see their designs numerous times, but sadly, I don’t often have the money to be able to purchase them. Something I wish I could do more is supporting smaller Australian businesses. Nyata is Australian owned but manufactured in Indonesia. They offer smaller runs on their collections so they are all limited edition.
I picked these pants up in a sale after Christmas, the few items I had my eyes on had sold out in my size and I’m always looking for new interesting pants, so I thought I’d give these a try. Finding pants I like can be hard, being an apple shape means pants often look awkward on me, but I’ve found looser harem type pants help. I picked these up in size ‘Gorgeous’ which is a 20-22. They fit great, though are a little long, but that is something easily fixed.
I wasn’t sure if I’d have anything to wear them with, apart from a black top, but then I remembered I picked up this top (it matches my dress) and I really love the whole citrus look of the outfit. I wish I still had my red hair to wear this with!

Oh, and I couldn’t help but do a cheeky internet VS real life photo. Haha. One of the good things about wearing a moonboot is that I can take it off for photos.
What is a colour you don’t often wear?
If you follow me on social media, you may remember me going on about this dress aaaages ago. I found it online at Crossroads and just loved the print. I love a good lemon tree/ orange tree/ palm leaf print. By the time I finally left the house to go into a store to try it on, I was worried there wouldn’t be any left. I was lucky and they had the dress in my size, as well as a top in the matching print, so I put them on layby!
That was over a month ago, in fact, that was last year! I finally got the layby out last week and wore the dress out yesterday when I went and saw Moana at the movies. Oh, you should totally go and see Moana, it was amazing and made me want to head back to Aitutaki.
I’m also trying to be more comfortable showing off my arms. I admit, my upper arms are an area I’m still quite insecure about. I will often throw on a light cardigan or that but not anymore. No one gave me a second look though, no one but me cared about my arms. Sometimes I think you can be your own worst enemy. So here is to me, rocking my flabby arms in public more!
Do you love a good fruit print? Any in particular?
