While keeping bathrooms clean is an important task, keeping your bathroom tiles clean is a thoughtful task. It is unhygienic to leave your tiles grimy, which also affects the longevity of the tiles. But thankfully, it is a task that is not as difficult as it looks.

Here, in this article, we will be discussing the best ways to keep your bathroom tiles clean and gleaming.

What type of tile is getting cleaned?

Before you begin the cleaning process, it is essential to know the type of tile that is going to be cleaned. This will ensure that you won’t damage the tile during the process. It is very easy to clean ceramic and porcelain tiles. They work fine with most cleaning solutions but might be damaged by the harder chemicals. If the stones are natural, like marble, they are more likely to get damaged from acidic products like vinegar or lemon. Hence, it is important to avoid these.

    Porcelain and ceramic tiles

There are multiple commercial cleaning items available in the stores but you can also make the cleaning products at home. Lemon can be used as a brilliant cleaning agent. The natural acidic agents present in it can help cut through the dirt and grime on the tiles. You can fill a spray bottle with lemon juice and spray it directly on the spots to wipe it clean. You can also use vinegar in a mixture of ¼ or ½ warm water. Fill it in a spray bottle and spray it directly onto the tiles and wipe it with a damp cloth.

    Grout lines

Grout lines can also get dirty easily. You can also clean them effectively using the prior mentioned liquid solutions. But instead of using a cloth, it is better that you use a brush or an old toothbrush. If the grime from the grout falls onto the tiles, try wiping it out with a cloth.

    Natural stones

Before cleaning them, check if the sealants are reapplied on the tiles. This is because these tiles are naturally porous and can absorb water if you are not careful enough. The cleaning products might end up staining it. It is better to begin with, warm water and a clean cloth for cleaning. If it does not work, you can mix some washing liquid too.
