Superstar Akshay Kumar will be sharing the screen with ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ co-actor Bhumi Pednekar in this comedy drama. The movie is directed by Aanand L. Rai and produced by Zee Studios, Colour Yellow Productions and Cape of Good Films. Following the releases of Samrat Prithviraj and Bachchhan Paandey in 2022, “Raksha Bandhan” will be Akshay Kumar’s third film. It is about how a brother sacrifices everything for his sisters, even his own romantic life and marriage. Akshay plays Lala Kedarnath and Bhumi Pednekar plays Sapna, Lala’s love interest, who plays the part of the devoted brother. The film addresses themes like dowry and body shaming and focuses on Lala’s attempts to marry off his sisters.
Abhinay Raj Singh, Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna, Sadia Khateeb, and Smrithi Srikanth also had prominent roles in Raksha Bandhan. For the movie, Himanshu Sharma wrote the screenplay. The movie’s soundtrack was composed by Himesh Reshammiya, and the lyrics were written by Irshad Kamil. Plot
Lala Kedarnath is a chaat seller in Old Delhi. He has the difficult task of matching his four sisters with husbands. On their mother’s deathbed, he committed not to get married until he had wed them off. Additionally, due to Laxmi’s dark complexion, Durga’s overweight, and Saraswati’s tomboyish behavior, he was unable to secure suitors for his sisters. Although his childhood sweetheart Sapna (Bhumi Pednekar) is patiently waiting for him, the financial hardship of accumulating four dowries puts a strain on him. As a result, Sapna’s father gives Lala six months to marry his sisters or else he’ll get his daughter married to someone else.
